Dumbbell Workouts - A Smart Way To Exercise

!±8± Dumbbell Workouts - A Smart Way To Exercise

There barbell training has been around for many years, particularly in the context of strength equipment and training programs. Fad training and equipment have come and gone, but dumbbell workouts have remained an easy, convenient way to keep fit and strengthen muscles. Their reliability and effectiveness are just some of the reasons for the longevity of their popularity. Add the fact that they are up to much space and cost much less than many other types of devices, and it is clear thatare a perfect choice for many fitness enthusiasts, especially as part of a power plant. There are many different dumbbell workouts that can be done at home.

The benefits of dumbbell workouts

Working with dumbbells has several advantages over other types of devices that use resistance. For example, by their very nature, dumbbell workouts require stabilization of the muscles that are important for strength, balance and posture to use. Unlike some exercise equipment, movements, withmay take some getting used to, dumbbell exercises use many of the body's natural movement patterns and also incorporate a greater range of movement than many other types of fitness equipment. And the flexibility of dumbbell workouts means that you can target specific areas of the body very effectively.

Dumbbell Safety

Before getting started with dumbbell weights, there are some basic safety rules to follow. As with all forms of exercise, it is best to start with some stretches or warm ups to loosen and prepare each muscle group. Failing to stretch the muscles can result in strains, tears and other injuries. It is also important to learn how to do the exercises properly, using correct form and technique before moving to heavier dumbbell weight sets and more difficult dumbbell workouts. There is a wrong way to do the exercises, and this too can result in injury or at a minimum, a lack of conditioning or effectiveness. Using a mirror helps you to see if you are using correct form.

In addition, experts recommend that with any type of weightlifting program, you have someone spot you at all times. Spotting entails having a person who watches every step of your workout to be sure you are not overextending yourself and to provide support and encouragement at critical points. A properly executed dumbbell workout will push your muscles to their limits and even a lightweight dumbbell can hurt like heck if you drop it on your head or toe. Lastly, it is a good idea to check with your physician or fitness professional before beginning exercises if you have health concerns or have experienced an injury, especially in the back or shoulder area.

Dumbbell Workout Exercises

When people think of dumbbell workouts, they often think of working the biceps and triceps. And in fact, dumbbells are ideal for strengthening and growing these muscle groups. However, there are exercises that incorporate dumbbells in ways that work every major muscle group in the body. The following six exercises each tackle one area of the body. They are some of the most common and easy to understand.

1.) Build those biceps

Hammer Curls - Stand straight and slightly loose with a dumbbell in each hand. Extend your arms on each side of your body with your palms facing each leg. Keep your elbows tight against your body, curl the weights up in a hammer motion and slowly return to the starting position. You can work both arms simultaneously or alternate the two. Repeat as many times as possible. Remember the goal is to fatigue the muscle.

2.) Try your triceps

Press - Lie flat on a mat or weight bench. With a dumbbell in each hand, extend your arms straight above your head, palms facing each other about two inches apart. Keep your shoulders pressed flat and avoid moving them. Bend your elbows and slowly lower the weights until your hands are on either side of your head. Push your arms back to the extended position and repeat for the desired number of reps.

3.) Shoulder the load

Shoulder Press - Can be performed sitting or standing. Sitting is recommended for beginners, as is a chair or bench with back support. With a dumbbell weight in each hand, extend your arms directly over your head, keeping elbows slightly bent to avoid locking. Slowly lower your arms until they are bent in a 90-degree angle, then push back to extended position and repeat. It is important to be sure you are pressing straight overhead as the tendency is to move at a diagonal.

4.) Best Chests

Flies - This exercise can be done lying flat or at a slight incline with back supported. With a weight in each hand, extend arms above your chest with palms facing each other. Bend your elbows slightly and be sure to keep that bend throughout the exercise. Lower your arms to either side until your upper arms are parallel with the floor. Push back to the extended position and repeat.

5.) Back to basics

Bench Rows - This exercise requires a bench set at a 30-degree incline. Adjust the height of the bench so that when you lie face down on the bench, your hands just barely touch the floor. Grab a dumbbell in each hand with your palms turned toward your feet. Bend your arm at the elbow and lift the dumbbells to your sides so that your upper arm is parallel with the ground. Slowly return the weights to the starting position and repeat.

6.) Get a leg up

Lunges - This is an exercise that is often included in an aerobics workout. Adding a dumbbell helps target the leg muscles and increases the strengthening effectiveness. Stand straight with feet about 12-18 inches apart. With a dumbbell in each hand, held at your sides, step forward with one foot, bending the knee at a 90-degree angle. Allow the other leg to bend automatically and that knee to just barely touch the floor. Push back to an upright position with the original foot and repeat. Do a set leading with the opposite foot as well, or alternate after each lunge.

These are just a few of the different dumbbell workout options. Trainers and fitness professionals have developed dumbbell exercises for all levels and situations. Dumbbells are an inexpensive, versatile way to burn calories and target specific muscle groups. They work well for people with limited space and for anyone who wants to add difficulty to an existing workout.

The four absolutely essential training equipment you need to start your own Home Gym

!±8± The four absolutely essential training equipment you need to start your own Home Gym

So you have to set aside some space for a home gym. They are willing to take the plunge and get some equipment so that, without waiting for the equipment, the music you listen you can not stand or delete other people can train welders.

But where do you start? What equipment should you get to maximize what you get in the space you have available to do? If you have a multi-station machine? Maybe a Bowflex? What is not more than 50 all this talk of the possibility of"Exercises of quality club?"

Right now, everyone from the head. The equipment needed to maximize space is very simple and easy and allows you to hundreds of exercises!

And the best thing you can do it cheap if you know the sources of law ...

Essential Home Gym Equipment # 1 - Adjustable Dumbbells

If I could only one type of equipment in my home gym, it would be a good set of adjustable dumbbells weight. You canVariety of exercises for each muscle group with only a simple pair of dumbbells.

First adjustable dumbbells means that you can easily change the weight you are working with still a lot of space in your home gym. If you have pre-made free weights, you must set aside space (or a good handlebar rack) for rows of dumbbells.

If you have the space (and money!) Have, to use pre-made dumbbells are certainly more convenient. But if you firmlyThe rooms can feed your handlebars do not be an option. And, of course, would be the first dumbbell much more expensive to get a decent range of weight.

When it comes to adjustable dumbbells, you have several options. They are by far the easiest of the power bloc (Nautilus Bowflex and also have similar products) style handlebars.

With this style is everything, do what you have to basically flip a switch to put the weight on the bar. The whole thing is interlocking - whichenter the space of just two dumbbells and give you a good selection to work on weights.

The other main options for the "do-it-yourself" are dumbbell weights. With this you basically have records and messages. With a good selection of discs, you can create a wide range of weights.

This type of weight is much cheaper than the Powerblock style of his, but the flip side, it takes more time together, the weight of the dumbbells and can protrude Postsa little 'awkward. But in general, for the money, this style is still a good investment, especially if you're looking to do some heavy dumbbells. Powerblock dumbbells heavy can be very expensive (they have expansion sets that go up to 130 lbs), but are even more substantial savings on the equivalent amount of pre-dumbbells.

Essential Home Gym Equipment # 2 - Adjustable tilt / flat / decline bench

Once the dumbbell, is the closest thing to get for your home gyma solid base. Ideally, a bank, which tend to be easily adjustable, flat and decline settings. The most versatile is, the more you get from it and the exercises that you will be able to be done with it.

And when I say solid, I mean SOLID. Do not skimp on this device. You do not want a bank folds under you, if you're in the midst of a harsh sentence (or ever for that matter!) Are.

The adjustable seat opens up a wide range of exercises to do for you withTheir weight.

On a side note, one might ask why have a bench in front of a barbell set in the order of the court "must-have." To be honest, it's a toss-up. Ideally, it would be best to get the four pieces of equipment that I speak in this article, at the same time! It would be well enough to get the set in front of the barbell bench as well.

Essential Home Gym Equipment # 3 - Olympic barbell with 300 pounds

To have your dumbbells and a bench. Now it is time toYour balance in September The nice thing is that dumbbell in most sporting goods stores you can get a set decent cheap brand new.

If you get a set barbell, I recommend you go for the set Olympic bar (the bar of 7 meters in length). The thinner bar (known also as the standard bar) has a much smaller capacity and is beginning to turn to when you load it with more than 200 pounds or so. The thicker bar will be easier to grasp as well.

Once the basic barbell set, you canvery easy to get more disks as you need.

One very important thing to note about free weights ... if you can, take it all in one place. If you buy online, shipping costs are only about twice the price of your order (they charge for shipping per kilo).

Essential Home Gym Equipment # 4 - The power rack

Have resistance (dumbbells and barbells), has ... 've apparatus (the adjustable bench) ... now you need a "framework" to maximize your numberof exercises you can do.

If you have a rack, not only opens a much wider range of exercises, but also greatly increases security and productivity potential of your workout.

Because here's the bottom line with the formation of home alone ... if you have a rack / roll cage power, not in your interest barbell bench press or squat heavy barbell do. When you press the bar into a bank without the help of stuck around, you're in big trouble!

If youshould begin saving of squat heavy without a power rack at the bar, you must let go of the bar, let your back and trying to pull out of the way crashes to the ground. It sounds like fun, is not a picnic (especially if your home gym is not on a concrete floor)!

To be honest, I also recommend people who train in commercial gyms, barbells to make their bench in the power rack. It 'an exercise that the potential to hurt you pretty hard if I did not comeunder it without the help of! Training in the rack is much safer and allows you to really push yourself without fear of going under the bar, which is invaluable if you really want to maximize results.

Even a very small home gym has space for a rack. My first home gym was in a room x 10 10 and it worked like a charm! The barbell on the rack itself can be saved, the bank is inserted directly into the rack when not in use. Many racks also come with weight posts to hold your plates righton the sides of the frame, which saves even more space.

Here's another great feature on some shelves ... the possibility of a weight stack-pulley. I did that with my rack and it was a great investment. Not only opens up a whole series of exercises you can do with pulleys but also exercises you can do to combine pulleys with the rack!

Honorable Mention essential equipment Home Gym - The Swiss Ball

While the Swiss ball (also known as "exercise ball" note)is not listed as an essential element here, I also highly recommend grabbing one of them. They are inexpensive and allow a wide variety of exercises performed, especially in combination with dumbbells.

Pay attention to a ball that seem of good quality - burst resistant is a feature that you want anyway. Would you like when a ball is drilled (especially when you're there!) Do not you know that explodes under you and you fall to the ground. This is not good, if only on theball ... especially if you are with weight, while you're there! If the ball is drilled, should slowly let the air out, allowing time to hit the ball

Where can I get this training devices:

When it comes to weights, barbells and dumbbells as it is, is your best to stay on site. As I said, shipping prices will kill when you order online with free weights or by mail. You can browse through flea markets for people to get rid of their stuff, or headdirectly to the sports shop.

Sports Authority (if you're in the U.S.) usually has good prices on barbells, dumbbells, and disks.

If you are interested in a range of PowerBlock dumbbells, you can order online and they find in stores.

When it comes to the bench and power rack, there are many different options in terms of marks. Personally, my bench and rack are Body Solid, which I am very happy. They are of good quality and were veryinexpensive. Other good brands are Yukon, Nautilus, BodyCraft and Ivanko.

As for where to find shelving and benches, is online, usually the best choice, if they are used in retail stores or get them through the classified ads of fitness. EBay is another good option. Be sure to shop around.

Bottom line ... Look around and compare prices. Feel free to find a good price and shop around to see other places, when they beat then!

CONCLUSION:

If the space forHe set up a home gym has a perfect sense if you are the type of person who can motivate yourself to be. Some people simply do not have the space or the atmosphere of a gym to achieve real progress - nothing wrong with that!

Your home gym should not be (and should not be!) Complexity. Only a few basic pieces of equipment are all you need to make a wide variety of exercises and get great results.

The best places are not built with fancy machines or with "studio-qualityExercises. "The best places are working hard, and exercises such as gold-standard squats, bench presses, deadlifts, barbell rows, etc., everything can be done with the four pieces, made of" must-have "equipment" you mentioned are: barbells, dumbbells, benches and racks!
